Two sophomores honored by Phillies Explorers Program

CONGRATULATIONS to sophomores Eric Smith and Michael Tuller, who will be honored during a pre-game event at the May 5 Phillies game at 7:05 p.m. for the three months of work they completed in the Phillies Explorer Program.

They will be meeting Phillies players on the field before the game, and receive certificates for their perfect attendance and participation in the program.

The Phillies Explorers program was offered to students in our Sports & Entertainment Marketing class, because it offered a real world connection to the material covered in class.  Eric and Michael learned about careers in sports marketing and what the Phillies organization does outside of the actual game of baseball.

They planned a fan appreciation night, designed a promotional item for children and participated in a Phantasy Phillies game.  They also were given opportunities to apply for jobs as youth hosts for this season, which gives them free admittance to every home game.

If you want to learn more about the Sports & Entertainment Marketing/Management program at GWHS, stop by and see Mrs. Kirby in Room 13.
