Waiting Love

A sunflower will always gaze towards the sun with neither hate nor regret,

Through strong winds and heavy rain,

It will continue to look up with a smile,

Patiently bearing the pain,

While waiting for the sun to shine once again;

But the sunflower has never felt, nor will it ever feel, any regret.

Flower donations needed for Garden of Remembrance ceremony

By Mrs. Bonnie Hughes

THE GARDEN OF REMEMBRANCE ceremony will be held on Friday, May 21, 2010.

Every year, we honor the students who passed away while attending George Washington High School, former students who gave their lives for their country, and graduates who have chosen to join the armed forces.

This year, the Human Relations Council has decided to honor a woman who touched the lives of so many students with her positive outlook and words of encouragement.  She dedicated so much of her free time sitting in the freezing cold or the scorching heat, cheering on the football team.  She was a mother, a friend, a confidante. She never forgot a birthday. Over the last five years, Heidi Shafer has donated flowers for the Garden of Remembrance.  This year, Ms. Heidi will be remembered for her dedication to George Washington High School.

If anyone would like to donate flowers for the Garden, please bring them to room 23.

Existence within the Void?

You know, this is just a random thought, what is worse?

Being abused through out your life or being denied your existence?

On one hand when you are being abused, at least they know you are there, acknowledging you have some kind of worth in their lives.

But on the other hand, being denied of your existence, your right to live, how can you cope with that?

But this is just a thought,

Nothing more…

Nothing less…

Remember this when you want to ignore someone’s existence.
